Installing the BT Cloud Work Phone Plugin for Citrix

BT Cloud Phone for Windows can integrate with Citrix by utilizing a plugin that establishes a direct channel from a remote device to our service. This plugin routes audio for optimal quality, which increases overall telephony operations caliber.

Minimum system requirements

Client

  • Windows 10 (or later): Citrix Workspace app 2010 (or later)
  • macOS 11 Big Sur (or later): Citrix Workspace app 2010 (or later)
  • Ubuntu 18.04, 20.04: Citrix Workspace app 2207 (or later)

Server

  • Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) 1912 LTSR (or later)

 

NOTE: Only the default system audio device is supported when using plugin for Linux.

If you’re using Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) 2019 or later, you need to add the following to the virtual channel to allow list policy of Citrix Studio, then restart the VDA environment:

RCSPVCH,C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\BTCloudWork\SoftPhoneApp\Softphone.exe

How to Install the plugin

Assure you complete these steps ahead of shutting down your current system.

First, on your local device:

  1. Install the Citrix Workspace.
  2. Install the BT Cloud Work Phone media optimisation plugin.
  3. Launch Citrix Workspace and connect to your server host.

Then on your virtual device:

  1. Install the BT Cloud Phone for Windows for BT Cloud Work.
  2. Launch the app and initiate a call.
  3. The icon Media optimized on the active call screen should appear if the plugin media optimization works correctly.
