Set up a Ring Group | BT Cloud Work

A Ring Group is a collective unit of phone numbers within the call handling and forwarding settings of a user extension that rings simultaneously. This allows users to combine both aspects of the Sequential and Simultaneous ringing sequence options.

For example, the intended call handling setting of a user extension is to sequentially ring a deskphone first, three mobile phones second (all at the same time), and then finally ring another deskphone if all previous devices did not answer the call. This setup can be done by grouping the mobile phones together, all the while still using the Sequential call sequence to follow the intended one-way flow of the calls.

NOTE: Creating a Ring Group requires at least two (2) phone numbers to be grouped together.
 

Set up a Ring Group

To create a Ring Group to be used in the call forwarding of a user extension, follow the steps below:

1. Log into your BT Cloud Work portal
2. Go to Settings > Call Handling & Forwarding. If you are an admin, setting this up for other users in the Admin Portal instead, click Users > Users with Extensions, and then click the intended user to access their call forwarding settings
3. Tick the checkboxes of the phone numbers you want to group, and then click Create Ring Group
4. If needed, update the duration or number of rings that the Ring Group will be ringing
5. Click Save

Add more phone numbers to a Ring Group

If you want to include additional numbers into an existing Ring Group, follow the steps below:

1. Add the intended new phone number(s) into the call forwarding list, and ensure that the toggle switch is set to enable
2. Tick the checkbox of the Ring Group you created, as well as the new phone number(s) you want to add
3. Click Create Ring Group
4. Click Save
