Call flip is BT Cloud Work Phone's feature that lets you transfer live conversations from one device to another quickly and easily. When you are on a phone call, press the asterisk key (*) plus a pre-set number corresponding to the device in the Call flip list. The call is transferred to that device This feature is useful when you are running out of battery on one phone and you need to move the call to another phone. 
 

How does Call flip work?

When you are on a phone call, press the asterisk key (*) plus a pre-set number corresponding to the device in the Call flip list. The call is transferred to that device. For example, if you have the number 5 assigned to your work phone, pressing *5 while you are on a call will instantly transfer the call to your work phone.

 

What is the difference between Call Flip and Call Switch?

Call switch enables switching ongoing calls between BT Cloud Work Phone desktop and mobile apps, exclusively. On the other hand, Call flip enables a user to flip an ongoing call between any devices connected to a digital line, including home phones, desk phones, and smartphones that are not equipped with the BT Cloud Work Phone Office app. 
 

How to set up your extension's Call flip Settings

To set up  your extension's Call flip, follow the steps below:  

1. Log in to your BT Cloud Work Portal
2. Go to Settings > Call Handling & Forwarding > Settings tab.
3. Under Call flip, click Edit.

You will see the list of devices or Forwarding numbers with their corresponding flip number. Hold your mouse on the row, drag and drop the row to change the flip number assigned to the phone number. When you are on a phone call, press the asterisk key (*) plus a pre-set number corresponding to the device in the Call flip list. The call is transferred to that device.

NOTE: Click Unlink to exclude a number from the Call flip list. To add a number back on the Call flip list, hold your mouse on the row, drag and drop the row to change the flip number assigned to the number.

 

Call flip on the BT Cloud Work Mobile App

On your BT Cloud Work Mobile app, simply press Flip to initiate Call flip, then choose the Phone number or location where you want to transfer the call.

1. On the Active Call controls screen, click the Flip button.
2. On the Flip call to screen, select from the list of numbers.

NOTE: You must hang up from the BT Cloud Work Mobile app to complete the transfer.

 

Call flip on the BT Cloud Work Phone Desktop app

On your BT Cloud Work Phone Desktop app, you can click the flip button while you are in an active call. When you click the flip button, you will be able to see the Flip call to... screen and select from the list of available numbers for Call flip.

1. On the Active Call controls screen, click the Flip button.
2. On the Flip call to... screen, select from the list of numbers. You can also select Custom to manually enter a phone number.
3. Click Flip to confirm the Call flip.
